| Ludacris - War With God (T.I. Diss)
With cats like ludacris the south movement will keep going stronger... This is clearly not a diss towards t.i. Maybe towards chingy since chingy is trying to come back out... But it would be shocking if this was directed towards an up north rapper... Lol .
Former NBA player helps police nab suspect
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The families of former NFL defensive back Anthony Newman and former NBA guard Terrell Brandon were the victims of an extortion attempt, the Portland Police Bureau said. Bobby Hayes, 41, was charged with theft by extortion and attempted theft by extortion. Police suspect he wrote threatening letters demanding $10,000 from the families of Newman and Brandon, according to court papers. One of the letters arrived early last week at the home of Newman's 65-year-old mother. It was addressed to "NFL Mom." "U don't know me, but I know U," it read. "I want 10K in cash in a black bag set next to your garage door Friday night. If you tell the police and try to be a hero you will be responsible for the murder of your whole family." Brandon, meanwhile, took matters into his own hands.
Scotland's banknotes 'under threat in Treasury shake-up'
Alex Salmond, the First Minister, has also voiced fears over the move, claiming the changes posed the "biggest threat" to Scottish notes in more than 160 years. Under current laws, Clydesdale Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and Bank of Scotland have to lodge funds with the Bank of England to cover the value of their notes, but only for three days of the week – the other four days they can be invested elsewhere, gaining millions of pounds in interest. However, the new proposals, announced last week by Alistair Darling, the Chancellor, would require funds to be lodged with the Bank of England for the entire week.A spokesman for Clydesdale Bank said it was "very concerned" about the potential impact of the proposals and was seeking a meeting with the Treasury. He added: "If this were to go ahead, it would force us to consider whether issuing bank-notes would be viable in the future, a position we do not want to be forced into."A consultation on the measures, aimed at improving financial stability and protecting depositors, has been launched.Mr Salmond said the changes could cost the Scottish and Northern Irish banks which issue their own notes a total of £100 million a year. The First Minister said: "This is a dagger at the heart of Scottish bank-notes, which are a proud tradition in Scotland and hugely popular with the Scottish public.

That's when a slimmer bald guy with the same name pleaded the fifth in front of a Congressional hearing on his use of steroids. At the same time, Barry Bonds, who was the single season home run king and was asked to testify as part of the federal government's case against the Bay Area Labs Co-op, was also closing in on the all-time record. Bonds was sitting at 703 home runs going into the 2005 season. My point is, if Bonds was still 200 home runs away from Ruth's record, would there be as much scrutiny on the performace enhancing drugs in baseball? I really don't think so. Baseball records are taken very seriously by the media people who cover the sport. The best example of this is Bob Costas, who in a 2005 interview with TSN's Ken Rosenthal believes that baseball "had some moral obligation" to do something about steroids.
Scion xB MotorWeek's 'Best'
CHICAGO, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- The boxy Scion xB compact utility vehicle was named the "Best of the Year" by MotorWeek Wednesday at the 100th Chicago Auto Show. "Our Scion owners asked for a bigger and better box and we responded with the 2008 xB," said Scion Vice President Jack Hollis. It's been nearly three decades since Dirtbombs leader Mick Collins first picked up a guitar with the sole intention of "murdering the Eagles." It's been precisely four decades since Collins heard, at age 3, his very first favorite song — Little Richard's "Good Golly Miss Molly" — on a hand-me-down 78 RPM record. Since then, the tall, bespectacled, deep-voiced rock 'n' roller from Detroit has been scorned, worshipped, categorized and just plain misunderstood — sometimes simultaneously — by a music world often more interested in labeling than listening. But Collins is now considered in many corners of the globe a musical trailblazer, an iconoclast who puts his stamp on everything from slick disco to the most archaic country blues. And, like any oddball black trailblazer from, say, Ike Turner to Phil Lynott, misinterpretation is part of the deal.
FLASHBACK: THE NEW SERGEI FEDOROV: Ex-Wings star is older and wiser in ...
He was a skater who lifted crowds to their feet. In his best days, down at the Joe, he justified the anticipation, and wowed a hockey-crazy region with graceful, electrifying rushes down the ice. He was a hockey prodigy then, a matinee idol, all cheekbone and Red Star mystery. But to some, Sergei Fedorov's career has been more tantalizing than anything else, an enigma who left observers wondering if there was more. He played for 13 seasons in Detroit and was critical to the championship run. He supplied Hockeytown with sex appeal. So when Fedorov left for California 2 1/2 years ago for $40 million and sunshine, his critics assumed his motives lay outside the ice. Some saw it as the bookend defection to his career here - from the Soviet Union to America, from Detroit to Los Angeles.
