Alan Hansen's column
The way King performed on Sunday, having not played for a while and with question marks over his long-term future due to his knee injury, was amazing. He was the best player on the pitch and showed just what Tottenham have been missing. If Spurs can keep King, Woodgate and to a certain extent Hutton fit, then they are really in business. Ledley is the lynchpin of the side though, and when he plays they look a better team. He gives them confidence and inspires them to be tight defensively. When you have players in your side that you know aren't going to let you down, who are going to win every tackle and block every shot, then that gives everyone else in the team a lift - confidence spreads as a result. It is like playing with a striker who you know is going to get you a goal, he is that important.
Ferrari roars ahead with a full order book
Piero Ferrari inherited the distinctive eyes of his late father, Enzo, but at least Piero radiates a sense of inner calm and happiness. Enzo was never seen without his sunglasses after the untimely death of his first son, Alfredo, also known as Dino, in 1956. Devastated, he famously wrote in his diary - using his trademark purple ink - "the match is lost". On a personal level, Enzo Ferrari endured much tragedy, but the company that bears his name is going from strength to strength. In 1996, 3,351 Ferraris were sold worldwide, netting the company €486.6million in sales and an operating profit of €5.4million. According to figures released this week, last year there were 6,465 new car sales, turnover stood at €1.67billion (£1.24billion) and profits reached €266million, despite the fall in the value of the dollar - a currency in which a third of Ferrari's sales are made.

Chrysler wipes out 13,000 jobs
The slumping U.S. auto market dealt another blow to automotive jobs in Canada Thursday as Chrysler LLC announced it will eliminate about 1,100 jobs in Brampton, Ont. as part of its second restructuring in eight months. Chrysler will wipe out the third shift in Brampton during the first quarter of 2008, following on the heels of General Motors of Canada Ltd., which will stop third-shift production at a pickup truck plant in Oshawa, Ont., in January. The market situation has changed dramatically in the eight months since Chrysler established the recovery and transformation plan as its blueprint, Chrysler chairman and chief executive officer Bob Nardelli said in a statement Thursday. The move angered Canadian Auto Workers union president Buzz Hargrove.
